About the Doctors
Dr Faith BatesDr. Faith N. Bates

I received my pre-doctoral training from the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry in 1999. I then completed specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2001. My training in pediatric dentistry affords me the ability to focus on the oral health and unique needs of young children. I believe that early dental visits and comprehensive education is a key to a life of beautiful and healthy smiles.

I am passionate about children’s oral health; and therefore, I put a great emphasis on early examinations and education. I welcome infants as early as age one as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The American Academy of Pediatrics also endorses this recommendation. The initial infant exam serves two purposes. The first is to establish a dental home where the child can receive the necessary dental care. The second is to establish a relationship with the parents and provide guidance and education regarding early oral care.

I am affiliated with Children's Health Care of Atlanta at Scotish Rite and Egleston where I perform needed dental treatment under general anesthesia for those children who are unable to cooperate for treatment in the conventional dental setting. Characteristics of these children include those who are very young, have developmental delays, or complex medical conditions. I am a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with the American Board of Pediatric Dentisry.  I have the Georgia Board of Dentistry Conscious Sedation Permit. I also hold certificates in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Arlene Soberano
On behalf of the entire Pediatric Dentistry at Vinings (PDAV) staff, it is with great pleasure that we announce Dr. Arlene Soberano has agreed to join our practice full-time! Dr. Soberano has been a part-time member of the PDAV family for the past five years, working six days per month. She will now work four days per week (Tue-Fri). Her experience, energy, and enthusiasm has contributed significantly to our growth and success. Bringing her on full-time allows us to service more patients with the quality of care they have come to expect.

Dr. Soberano is a General Dentist and earned her DMD from the Medical College of Georgia in 1998. She holds memberships with the Academy of General Dentistry (www.agd.org) and the Georgia Dental Association (www.gadental.org). To date, Dr. Soberano has fifteen years experience working exclusively with children, and over eight years working with Dr. Bates. It is her goal to promote good oral habits to children and parents as a part of preserving beautiful, healthy smiles for a lifetime. Dr. Soberano is an active member of her church and Scouting community with her children. When she is not providing excellent dental care to her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

In alignment with our motto, Dr. Soberano's primary goal is to make visiting the dentist a fun and positive experience. She believes in providing examples and teaching as building blocks for quality dental care. Finally, Dr. Soberano shared "Children and Adolescent Dentistry is a wonderful field and it is more appreciated when you work with a great team like Dr. Faith Bates and her staff!"
